Green Willow Funerals has been a founder member of the Association of Green Funeral Directors since 2009.

The Association has three main objectives:

To help members of the public find funeral homes in their area which are willing to provide greener options in the funerals they carry out.
To encourage funeral directors (FDs) to become more green-minded in all aspects of their work and help bring natural funerals into the mainstream.

To provide income for the Natural Death Centre (NDC), an organisation that provides independent funeral advice in the UK.

Green Willow Funerals is a member of the NAFD. Selecting a funeral director who is a member of the NAFD ensures that you are selecting a funeral professional that has been assessed against strict criteria in the delivery of both high quality of standards and service. NAFD members adhere to the NAFD code of practice and are monitored regularly to ensure their high quality of service is maintained.

National Association of Funeral Directors

The Natural Death Centre is a social entrepreneurial, educational charity that gives advice on all aspects of dying, bereavement and consumer rights in this area. We give support on family-organised and environmentally-friendly funerals and run the Association Natural Burial Grounds. Although green, we promote choice and education not just environmental issues.Green Willow Funerals has been certified as a Natural Death Centre Recommended funeral director.

The Natural Death Centre confirm cite that "recommended funeral directors are all flexible, transparent and accomodating service providers who have either been recommended by members of the public for their outstanding service and have confirmed that they will provide stand alone services and bespoke funerals or are funeral directors who have been known to the The Natural Death Centre (NDC) for many years"

Green Willow Funerals has been certified to advise on Green Funerals and Natural Burials at Native Woodland's natural burial grounds since January 2011.

Natural Burials have six exceptionally beautiful natural burial grounds around the UK - these are really natural places with well considered, long-term futures. The natural burial grounds are rural places where the use of the land for burials is complementary to the traditional use of the land as pasture, meadow or woodland. They are real landscapes, not artificially landscaped parks.
