Venue
Many funeral services are still conducted at a place of worship or a chapel on crematorium/ cemetery grounds. There are many alternative venue options available for either funeral services or wakes, which can include a sporting venue or a place that represents your loved one’s hobbies or interests.
Tone
When choosing a bespoke funeral, you may opt for a particular tone of the funeral, there are many different types including celebration of life, remembrance, traditional, modern, casual, amongst many more. The tone of the funeral can be achieved through attire personalisation options and some families may wish to have a theme to reflect a loved one’s interests and values.
Transport
Aside from a traditional black hearse, nowadays there are many alternative and memorable funeral transport options including a motorcycle and sidecar hearse, horse-drawn funeral carriages, and converted Volkswagen Campervans to name a few.
Music and Readings
The choice of music and readings can be personalised to truly reflect the character of your loved one with their favourite genres, songs, or poems. Family and friends can also deliver eulogies or share stories and fond memories about a loved one for a more intimate service. Visual elements can also be used to display photographs, achievements and memorable moments.
Memorials
After the funeral has taken place, families can choose to create personalised memorials such as urns, memorial jewellery, keepsakes, or a unique gravestone. These can serve as reminders and keep a loved one close.

Frequently Asked Questions
We answer some of the most common questions our funeral directors receive:
Will I be able to see my loved one?
Yes, arrangements can be made to see your loved one in one of our funeral homes. In rare cases, a viewing may not be advised, in which case a closed coffin viewing can be arranged.
Where will my loved one be taken?
If your loved one dies expectedly, they would be taken to rest at one of our funeral homes, located at; Heath in Cardiff, Malpas in Newport, or Station Road in Dinas Powys.
How long does it take to arrange a funeral?
Depending on the circumstance, an attended funeral usually takes between 2-3 weeks to arrange. Timescales may vary depending on if your loved one is taken into the coroner’s care and whether you are arranging a burial or cremation. Your funeral director will work with you to discuss a date for the funeral that works best for you.
When is payment due?
Once you have met with your funeral director and discussed your loved one’s wishes, payment is required to cover the cost of third-party disbursements before the funeral can be arranged. Once payment is received, a funeral date can be confirmed. The remainder of the balance will be required within 60 days of the funeral. If you are choosing a White Willow Cremation, full payment is due at the time of arrangement.
